Privacy

Station is a small radio show made from voice notes between friends. This page explains what information the app uses, why it uses it, and the choices you have.

What Station keeps

• Your account. You sign in with Apple through Supabase Auth. We receive an account identifier, your email address (which may be an Apple private relay address), and the display name you choose.
• Your voice recordings. We store the clips you record, along with the information needed to put them into the right daily show.
• Transcripts and safety checks. In versions with voice safety checks, before you share a clip, voice intro, reply, or response, Station uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition to make a transcript and checks it against objectionable-content rules. The app requires a successful check before uploading the recording. Audio is not sent to Apple for this transcription. The transcript is stored with the recording and shared with the same audience, subject to the moderation and deletion rules below.
• Your connections. We keep the friend, station, group, and invitation information needed to share each recording with the people you chose.
• Notification details. If you allow notifications, we keep a device push token and timing information so Station can tell you when friends have recorded or a show is ready.
• Reports and blocks. We keep the reporting or blocking account, the reported account and its name/handle, timestamps, any reason you provide, and relevant content details so moderation can review the issue. Repeated blocks may be grouped in one moderation record. These records are private to moderation and are not shown to the person you report or block.

Who can hear a recording

Recordings are not public. A recording for your regular Station show is shared with your Station friends. A recording made for a group is shared only with the people in that group. Station uses Supabase for authentication, database, file storage, and related hosting.

Station’s moderator can review reported content and relevant account details to investigate abuse, remove violating content, and suspend or eject abusive accounts. Blocking removes that person’s content from your view and privately alerts moderation.

Product analytics

Builds distributed through TestFlight and the App Store use PostHog for product analytics. Station identifies you there with a pseudonymous profile ID — a UUID, not your name or email — and records product events, such as when a clip is recorded. We use these events to understand what is working and improve Station.

Automatic capture of screen views, taps, app lifecycle events, errors, and session replays is disabled. The app sends only the product events Station deliberately defines.

Analytics records are tied to that pseudonymous profile ID, never your name or email. When you delete your account, the app resets its PostHog identity on your device. Station never uses analytics for ads.

Station has no ads and does not sell your personal information. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Service logs

Supabase and Firebase Hosting keep standard service logs to run and secure Station. These logs include IP addresses. Station does not use them to profile you.

Children

Station is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly keep accounts for children under 13.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account inside the app. Deletion removes your account, your personal Station channel, your recordings, and the related Station data tied to you. If you founded a group, deleting your account also deletes that group and its shows, including recordings contributed by other members. If a recording has been reported, we keep it while the report is reviewed and delete it afterward. For resolved cases, captured reported-account details and content references are cleared 12 months after review. Block records also clear the blocking account at that point. We keep report reasons and moderation audit history after that period; reports remain associated with the reporting account until that account is deleted. Unresolved evidence is retained while the case is being reviewed. The app explains this before you confirm.

Because Station uses Sign in with Apple, the app asks you to confirm with Apple as part of deletion. Once deletion completes, it cannot be undone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Station changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give reasonable notice in the app or through the contact information connected to your account.
